Karate is a traditional martial art that originated in Japan and focuses on the development of physical strength, mental discipline, and moral character. The word Karate means “empty hand”, emphasizing self-defense without weapons.
Judo is a modern Japanese martial art and Olympic sport, founded by Jigoro Kano. The word Judo means “the gentle way”, emphasizing the principle of using technique and balance over brute strength. Judo focuses on throws, takedowns, pins, joint controls, and controlled groundwork.
Kung Fu is a traditional Chinese martial art system with a history spanning thousands of years. The term Kung Fu represents skill achieved through hard work, time, and dedication, not just fighting ability. Kung Fu training develops strength, flexibility, balance, speed, and coordination through a combination of stances, strikes, kicks, forms, breathing techniques, and partner training.
Kobudo is a traditional Okinawan martial art that focuses on the use of classical weapons developed from everyday farming and household tools. Common Kobudo weapons include the Bo (staff), Sai, Nunchaku, Tonfa, and Kama.
